Council information

Our ward & councillors

As of May 2019, this Neighbourhood Watch lies entirely within Lansdown ward.  Our local councillors are Lucy Hodge and Mark Elliott.

Council Connect

The Council can be contacted directly by various means. The telephone number of 'Council Connect' is 01225 394041 and email address councilconnect@bathnes.gov.uk. This should be used for matters that need immediate attention. Council Connect runs during office hours Monday-Friday, but provides ways to make a report out of hours.

FixMyStreet

The FixMyStreet website has been used successfully to report local problems, for example: potholes, dog mess on the pavement, a portaloo that had overstayed its welcome and a road sign that was installed upside down! Reports are sent directly to the Council, and the report is displayed publicly on the FixMyStreet website (anonymously if desired). Current local reports are visible here.

Road works

There is a map of current and proposed road works on the Council website. You can use the menu near the top right of the page to change the timeframe, for example to see what is coming up in the next couple of weeks.
N.B. the actual time the works take may differ considerably from what is announced on the website and elsewhere.

Rubbish collection

November 2017: We have been issued with gull-proof bags for non-recyclable waste. Both recycling and non-recyclable waste continue to be collected weekly from our street on Thursday mornings.

Getting information from the Council

It's a good idea to submit precise requests for information as Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. Use this form to make FOI requests to B&NES Council. A FOI request must be replied to within 20 working days, and experience shows that the Council can take much longer than that to answer queries if they are not made as FOI requests.

Note that local councillors from the Lansdown ward often attend the Police beat surgeries at St Stephen's Church (see the home page for details).

Council consultations

These are often poorly publicised; a list of current consultations may be found here.
